Heggie is from Reign On’s very first litter — the Summer x Waldo pairing. She holds a special place in my heart as my first bred-by-exhibitor dog to finish an AKC Championship.
From the very start, Heggie’s show career took off with excitement. At the North Georgia Working Dog Specialty, she was awarded Best 4–6 Puppy. At the 2018 Cotton Cluster, she went Winners Bitch and Best of Opposite Sex for her first 4-point major. With limited showing, and earning mostly majors along the way, Heggie quickly finished her Championship in August 2019 at the Owensboro, KY show, where she went Best of Breed all four days. That same year, she was named Best Bred-By Standard Schnauzer at the Royal Canin/AKC National Championship with Katrina. In addition to her conformation titles, she earned her CGC and Trick Dog Novice titles. Heggie went on to finish her Grand Championship (GCH) in 2021. She earned her first major toward this title in fall 2020 with Oscar Quiros in Perry, GA, and completed the title the following spring with Katrina. At the 2021 SSCA National Specialty in Doswell, VA, she was awarded the First Award of Merit, beautifully presented by Jody Paquette. In 2022, Heggie was shown lightly but continued to shine — earning several Best of Breed wins, multiple OH Group placements, and finishing the year as Select Bitch at the AKC National Championship in Orlando, FL with Jody Paquette. She also achieved her NOHS Bronze Level that summer. Heggie continued her success in 2023, adding more Best of Breed and Best of Opposite Sex wins. She was honored as Select Bitch at the Westminster Kennel Club Show, earned a Group 4 placement, and finished the year ranked in the Top Ten for SSCA year-end standings. In 2024, Heggie entered an exciting new chapter as a dam, whelping her first litter with CH Vadim Reign On Grand Calvera CGC CGCA CGCU TKN (“Vinny”). From the very beginning, this cross showed tremendous promise, and the puppies are already making their mark in the ring. Two of her youngsters — CH Reign On Two Dozen Roses and CH Reign On Four Roses — have already finished their AKC Championships, with others well on their way. Watching Heggie’s strengths in type, movement, and showmanship carry forward — beautifully complemented by Vinny’s outstanding qualities — has been incredibly rewarding. This first litter represents not only a milestone for Heggie but also an exciting step forward for the future of the Reign On breeding program. Producer Highlights
Heggie’s story is deeply personal, and she simply would not have been possible without the incredible people who stood beside me on this journey. My heartfelt thanks go to Rhonda Davis, whose friendship and mentorship gave me the confidence and guidance I needed as a breeder. I am forever grateful to Doug Welsh, Waldo’s owner, for trusting me and allowing his boy to be part of this dream. And most of all, it all began with a simple phone call from Chris Faulk — the call that set everything in motion and changed the course of my kennel forever. A very special thank you also goes to Jody Paquette and Grahm Swayze. Your expertise, dedication, and belief in Heggie brought out the very best in her, and without you, none of her biggest wins would have been possible. The memories of seeing Heggie shine in the ring with you will always hold a special place in my heart. Heggie is not just a champion and a producer; she is the living reminder of the friendships, trust, and encouragement that built the foundation of Reign On. |
